Trauma Processing

At SHIPS, we offer trauma processing to support healing from past experiences — including complex trauma, sexual trauma, and relational trauma.

Our practitioners use a range of trauma-informed psychological techniques to help clients safely process and integrate difficult experiences.

Our approach may include:

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Image Re-scripting (as part of Schema Therapy)

  • Somatic and body-based interventions

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) approaches

  • Cognitive and behavioural interventions

  • Attachment-based Therapy

Types of trauma we work with include:

  • Childhood or developmental trauma

  • Sexual trauma and assault

  • Emotional or physical abuse

  • Relationship and attachment wounds

  • Identity-related trauma (e.g., related to gender, sexuality, neurotype, or cultural marginalisation)

  • Medical or reproductive trauma

  • Grief and loss connected to traumatic events
